About company

S.M.S., Ltd., was founded in 1997 by former employees of one of the most significant plants for the manufacture of ammunition, mines and artillery missiles in former Czechoslovakia.

Rich and various experience in the field of military material import and export gained during many years of practice in a manufacturing plant, gathered in various countries of the world, meant an excellent basis and initial position for the establishment of own company.

Detailed knowledge of the issue from the technical and administrative point of view simply guarantees reliability and complete professionalism in the execution of supplier activities. The present Company’s quality policy built on experience and expertise of the staff from the field of legislation and generally binding, though unwritten rules of business ethics, is also directed towards the aim to accurately and quickly satisfy specific customer needs.

From the beginning the Company’s activity is exclusively focused on trading in military material. In this area we provide also advisory and consultative services, we organise repairs and modernisation of equipment offered, provide finished turn-key projects and training in every type of special equipment offered.

The Company is a holder of a licence for trading in military material within the meaning of the Act No. 179/1998 Coll. as amended and owns a certificate on industrial safety of enterpriser issued by the National Safety Office of the Slovak Republic.

In 2005 S.M.S., spol. s r. o., Ltd., successfully passed the process of quality system certification under the ISO standards. The ISO 9001 Certificate was granted to S.M.S. in the field of trading in and handling military material. In addition to this, in 2006 the Company obtained the AQAP 2110 Certificate and in 2011 the ISO 14001 Certificate.
